Formation Programmes at the Business and Faith Centre

Catholic Priests of the Accra Archdiocese

The Business and Faith Development Centre (BFDC) of the Catholic Institute of Business and Technology (CIBT), situated adjacent to the Teachers’ Hall, has over the last month organized series of seminars for the laity of the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra specifically, leaders of Ethnic Groups, Catholic Youth, women Groups, Presidents and Secretaries of identifiable groups and catechists on the following topics:  conflicting resolution and management, career guidance for the youth, the role of women in the Bible and its implication to  the Ghanaian woman, conflict management skills in pastoral ministry and introduction to the bible respectively. They were led through these seminars by experts like Dr. Kwakye-Frempong and Rev. Fr. Dr. George Ossom-Batsa of the University of Ghana; Rev. Fr. Dr. Ted- Nelson Adjakpey Chairman of the Justice and Peace Commission of the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra and also Parish Priest of the St. Paul Parish of Kpehe, Mrs. Edem Welbeck, the head of the Business Administration Department of CIBT, and Rev. Fr. Dr. Eric Oduro Wiafe, the Director of BFDC.

The Archbishop, Most Rev. Charles Gabriel Palmer-Buckle graced one of the programmes. He said the Centre is there for the laity to benefit from the establishment of the university. He offered his support to the Centre’s activities and was optimistic that it will grow from its humble beginning.

The courses of the centre geared towards the enlightenment of participants on some topical issues on business and faith for their holistic development. It is the dream of the director that he is able to reach out to the priests and laity with more enriching programmes that will benefit them for their ministry, work and livelihood. He urged people to get more information about the centre’s programmes and participate in them.
